How do you find the exact partners and entities you need? Who can show you the way when it comes to taking your next step? How do you turn a great idea into reality? How can you come into contact with the right people and organizations? What’s the best way to plot a course that is just right for you?
These are the kinds of questions that play on the minds of many entrepreneurs and scientists, whether they’re just starting out or not. Because innovation and enterprise are so much easier when you’re surrounded by all the right people, Medtronic, Medace, LifetecZONe, LIOF, Brightlands, Rabobank, and the Municipality of Maastricht are once again putting on their Health Innovation Euregion Event this year.

Creating impact together through dynamic partnerships
The great transitions in our society require a much more agile and adaptive approach to innovation. To overcome these challenges we need ecosystems of open and dynamic collaborations of partners within the value chain.
At Holst Centre we have been practicing this innovative approach to innovation for more than 18 years. Innovation Day serves as a testament to these fruitful collaborations, featuring an exciting program that showcases highlights in key technology domains, including integrated photonics, medtech, and future electronics.
What to expect:
Furthermore, Innovation Day is the perfect occasion to meet up, exchange ideas, and explore partnerships that will boost our technological and economic ecosystem.
Let’s come together, and join us to create dynamic collaborations for impactful innovation. We look forward to seeing you on Innovation Day 2024!
By popular demand, the High Tech Network Meetings are back in action. We will now be organizing the ‘Meeting Your Peers Engineers’ about five times a year at the Noviotech Campus in Nijmegen!
These free gatherings are specially designed for engineers working in Nijmegen and the surrounding areas at High Tech/Semicon companies. The goal is simple yet powerful: to meet each other, share knowledge, and stay informed about the latest developments in our sector.
Ampleon in the spotlight
The kickoff will take place on Thursday, June 25, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Noviotech Campus. Ampleon will take the spotlight and provide the lunch. Their Director Modelling and Characterization Group,Vittorio Cuoco, will dive into one of Ampleon’s specialties: Multiphysics Simulation. Increasing pressure on cost and performance of modern MMIC products for 5G and RF applications require EM-based optimization of designs to gain competitive advantage.
To make sure that temperatures and mechanical stress levels remain under reliability limits for smaller and smaller packing solutions, Multiphysics simulations are needed at product and system level, including full chip, package, board and cooling blocks to ensure that temperatures and the mechanical stress levels remain under reliability limits.
Having EM and Multiphysics tools under the same roof with a simple interface improves efficiency, boost productivity, and enables cutting-edge designs of high-performance products.
Demcon Multiphysics shares examples of projects
Elze Knol, Group Leader at Demcon Multiphysics, will be our guest speaker. We are excited to announce that!
Demcon Multiphysics is specialized in complex multiphysics simulations, mainly using finite element and finite volume methods. Using such simulations, they gain deep physical insight of a design and can increase the efficiency of product development. Elze will share some examples of projects they performed, a.o. modeling of combined electromagnetic and thermal effects.
Program:
11:45 – 12:15 Walk in and lunch at Pop-Up Horeca (front of building M)
12:15 – 12:35 Vincent Gerritsma (CEO) about Ampleon (Building M)
12:35 – 12:55 Vittorio Cuoco about Multiphysics Simulation at Ameplon
12:55 – 13:15 Elze Knol from Demcon Multiphysics
13:15 – 13:30 Wrap-up & introduction next meeting
Mark Luke Farrugia, Managing Director of the Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC) (located at Noviotech Campus), will be the moderator of the Meeting Your Peers Engineers meetings.Don’t miss this opportunity to network and expand your knowledge!
We missen hem enorm.
Zie de kaart als een uitnodiging om aanwezig te zijn bij de afscheidsdienst van Martijn. En voel je vrij deze te delen met je collega’s die Martijn ook hebben gekend.

Rust zacht, Martijn. Je leeft voort in onze herinneringen en in ons hart.

What’s the value of your company?
Valuation of a company is almost always hard. Sentiments play a role, but also the fact that there are many alternative ways to look at the value of a company. This is of course even more true if you run a start-up as the past offers little foundation to determine future performance and worth. But for all growth stages valuation is immensely important since external financing is in most cases the only way to grow. Therefore, it’s necessary that you understand how valuation works, that you know how best to prepare for negotiations and how to determine the conditions. This is what this workshop offers. It helps create a better understanding of company valuation and investment terms as well as the process to reach an investment deal.
Understanding the other site of the table
Investors and entrepreneurs both want a deal that makes them happy. In order to have fruitful discussions about the valuation of your company, it’s therefore important for both sides of the table to have a good understanding of each other’s perspective. What does an investor look for in a business case? What is expected from you as an entrepreneur? But also, what can you expect from an investor? Now during the deal making phase, but also later on as a shareholder in your company? Instead of looking for a bigger slice of the pie, the goal should be to make the pie bigger for everyone at the table.
Legal issues regarding the participation of investors
When an investor and entrepreneur cooperate, in principle, they have the same objectives. But that’s not the case on all aspects of the cooperation. For instance regarding an exit or the relationship between the management board and the general meeting of shareholders. These are some of the most important issues in the cooperation between an entrepreneur and an investor. Thorough thought on these issues upfront contribute to a smooth cooperation between entrepreneur and an investor.
