Digital marketing can often feel like navigating a maze — complex, time-consuming, and expensive. But what if you could simplify the whole process with just one conversation? Enter Reeply AI, your AI marketing employee that’s changing the way companies approach advertising.

As Maximilian Nols, the CEO of Reeply AI, reflects on his journey, it’s clear that his innovative spirit has driven his success. Born from the challenges of running his own marketing agencies in Germany, Reeply AI was founded to address a problem faced by many small and medium-sized enterprises: creating cost-effective and efficient digital marketing campaigns. “I noticed companies struggling with the balance between their ad budgets and agency fees”, Maximilian explains. “This sparked the idea for a solution that could automate these processes without sacrificing quality.”

From Germany to the Netherlands: building Reeply’s foundation

Maximilian’s entrepreneurial journey began in Germany, but the Netherlands proved to be the perfect location for Reeply AI’s headquarters. “I completed my studies in the Netherlands, where I met one of my co-founders”, Maximilian shares. “The Netherlands felt more pragmatic and supportive for startups compared to Germany. Additionally, joining the Imec.istart program gave us a solid foundation.”

Imec.istart, a renowned accelerator program, provided not only funding but also invaluable coaching and networking opportunities. It was through this network that Maximilian discovered Briskr and the Business Angel Network Nijmegen (BANN). “The BANN event was a game changer”, he says. “It gave us access to insights and feedback from investors and industry leaders, which is crucial for a young startup.”

The birth of Reeply AI

Reeply AI’s core innovation lies in its conversational interface, which transforms the complex process of setting up digital ad campaigns into a simple dialogue. “Our AI works like a chat assistant”, Maximilian explains. “You can tell it what you want to achieve, and it will ask follow-up questions, connect to your ad accounts, and set up campaigns based on your input.”

This approach makes digital advertising accessible to everyone, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced marketer. “Even advanced marketers benefit from the efficiency”, Maximilian adds. “For example, creating multiple ad creatives for A/B testing becomes much faster and less tedious.”

Recent developments

Although not officially launched, Reeply AI has already attracted considerable interest. “We’ve been running paid pilot projects with around 30 companies”, Maximilian notes. “What surprised us was the overwhelming response to our initial ads — 600 companies signed up within two months.”

The team has been carefully refining the platform based on feedback from these pilots. “We’re iterating to ensure a seamless user experience before our public launch”, he explains. “By April 2025, we aim to cover all campaign types on Meta platforms, followed by Google Ads and LinkedIn later in the year.”

The role of Briskr and Imec.istart

Partners like Briskr and Imec.istart have been instrumental in Reeply AI’s growth. “The support we’ve received goes beyond funding”, Maximilian says. “Imec.istart’s workshops and coaching sessions have taught us invaluable lessons about scaling a business. The BANN events gave us direct access to investors, and helped us understand their perspectives and expectations.”

These collaborations have equipped the Reeply AI team with the tools to navigate the challenges of scaling a tech startup. “It’s not just about having a great idea; it’s about executing it effectively”, Maximilian emphasises.

Scaling and innovating

The future of Reeply AI looks bright. “2025 will be a pivotal year for us”, Maximilian shares. “We plan to scale our platform, expand our team, and enter new markets. Digital advertising works the same everywhere, so we’re looking at English-speaking countries like the UK and the US as our next steps.”

As well as geographical expansion, Reeply AI aims to enhance its capabilities. “Our long-term vision is to enable the AI to autonomously plan entire campaign cycles”, Maximilian reveals. “Imagine an AI that not only sets up campaigns but also strategises for the next six months. That’s where we’re headed.”

A symbiotic future for AI and marketers

While some fear that AI could replace traditional marketing roles, Maximilian sees a different future. “Our solution won’t eliminate marketing agencies; it will make them more efficient”, he says. “Just as programmers use AI tools to code faster, marketers can leverage Reeply AI to focus on higher-level strategy.”

With its innovative approach and strong support network, Reeply AI is poised to revolutionise digital marketing. As Maximilian concludes: “We’re not just building a tool; we’re creating a new way to approach advertising — accessible, efficient, and impactful.”

Air leakage from the lungs is common after lung surgery. Bob Hermans, currently working at Radboudumc is earning his PhD for research on a new tissue patch, which has shown promising results in an animal model.

Every year, more than two million people worldwide develop lung cancer. It is estimated that a quarter of them undergo surgery, and about 50,000 develop what is known as prolonged air leakage. “After lung surgery, many patients will have some degree of air leakage from the lung,” says Bob Hermans,  who is currently working as a physician at the department of cardio-thoracic surgery at Radboudumc. “In many cases the lung heals within a few days, but if it doesn’t cease to exist, it is called prolonged air leakage.  In turn, this leads to a longer duration of hospital stay, more complications, a higher mortality, and higher costs.”

Closing leaks in the lung

A wound in the lungs – after an operation or accident – can be stitched, stapled or glued with a spray or an adhesive plaster. The choice often depends on the nature of the wound. Hermans: “Lung tissue is very delicate and sutures can really only be applied in the somewhat firmer enveloping membrane of the lung, with a risk of tearing. Other techniques also have their own set of drawbacks. For example, adhesive plasters often detach due to the normal lung movements after surgery. We studied how a new adhesive plaster, a patch, performs in that regard. We looked at whether it sticks well, seals the wound effectively, is safe to use and is biodegradable.”

Existing patch, new application?

This patch is an existing product, developed by the Nijmegen-based company GATT Technologies and which was marketed by the company Ethicon at the end of 2023. This not as a patch to seal air leaks, but as a thin sponge to quickly and effectively stop bleeding (hemostasis). Hermans: “So we tested the same material for a new application, that is sealing air leaks. In our research in an animal model the first results are positive. The patch has good adhesive strength and attaches well compared to other adhesive plasters. In addition, the material does not cause excessive inflammatory reactions, it allows for normal wound healing and appears to be completely resolved after six weeks.”

Diseased lung tissue

These initial results make the patch interesting for further research. Important issues that Hermans says still need to be examined are its effectiveness and safety in the long(er) term. “Especially in patients in whom lung function is diminished due to COPD or another lung disease, for example. Air leakage from the lungs is especially common in this patient group, whilst I conducted my research exclusively on healthy lung tissue.”
