Hoe kan Artificial Intelligence (AI) en Data Science jouw bedrijf transformeren en welke mogelijkheden zijn er hierin? De cursus AI in de Praktijk (basis) biedt de antwoorden en handvatten die je nodig hebt en is het perfecte startpunt voor mkb’ers, onderwijs en overheidsinstanties.

Over de cursus

In een tijd waarin technologie razendsnel vooruitgaat, is het essentieel voor bedrijven om bij te blijven met de nieuwste ontwikkelingen. Artificial Intelligence (AI) en Data Science bieden ongekende mogelijkheden om jouw bedrijfsprocessen te optimaliseren, klantgedrag te analyseren en innovatieve oplossingen te creëren. 

De cursus heeft als doel deelnemers de basisbeginselen van Artificial Intelligence (AI) en Data Science bij te brengen, en tegelijkertijd een eerste kijkje onder de motorkap van de techniek te bieden. Daarnaast komen ook zakelijke aspecten zoals ethiek en praktische toepassingen aan bod, zodat jij goed voorbereid bent om AI succesvol in jouw eigen organisatie te implementeren. 

Deel 1: de basisbeginselen van data science & AI – door lector Erwin Folmer 
In dit deel leer je de toepassingsmogelijkheden van data science en AI en het belang van een goed datafundament. Onder leiding van lector Erwin Folmer maak je kennis met de basisprincipes, technische fundamenten en toepassingen van het werken met data. Je ontdekt het concept ‘Knowledge Graphs’ als datafundament en hoe data science-toepassingen (AI) hiermee werken aan de hand van vele praktijkvoorbeelden, zoals bij het Kadaster. Ook staan we stil bij de organisatie van AI binnen een organisatie.   

Deel 1 biedt een inleiding tot data science & AI, zonder dat er technische voorkennis vereist is. 

Deel 2: AI, data science, recht en ethiek – door strategisch adviseur digitalisering en jurist Martijn Hendriks 
Dit deel richt zich op de juridische en ethische aspecten van AI en data science. Concreet leer je welke overwegingen van juridische en ethische aard essentieel zijn bij het formuleren van een denkrichting voor en het implementeren van AI in je organisatie. Daarbij komen uiteraard ook de kansen en uitdagingen van AI aan de orde.  
 
Deel 3: de praktische toepassing van AI – door docent-onderzoeker Raoul Grouls 
Iedereen heeft het over generatieve AI (zoals ChatGPT) maar hoe werkt dat nu eigenlijk? Om beter te begrijpen waar we generatieve AI wel voor kunnen inzetten, maar vooral ook waar niet, moeten we eerst beter begrijpen hoe dergelijke modellen werken. Raoul Grouls gaat eerst een aanzet geven hoe we überhaupt kunnen nadenken over een vraag als: “Begrijpt ChatGPT wat ik zeg?” Vervolgens gaan we ter plekke een heel bescheiden generatieve AI trainen.

Workshop SMART & veilig werken in laboratoria en cleanrooms

Welke slimme keuzes dragen bij aan een veilige, efficiënte en gecontroleerde werkomgeving? Leer van experts, ontdek slimme oplossingen en verbeter je werkwijze in het lab, de cleanroom of andere gecontroleerde omgevingen.

Samen met onze partner Avantor organiseren we een interactieve workshopmiddag waarin je ontdekt hoe slimme keuzes bijdragen aan een veilige, efficiënte en gecontroleerde werkomgeving.

In korte presentaties en hands-on miniworkshops leer je hoe je met kleine verbeteringen grote stappen kunt zetten in veiligheid én procesoptimalisatie.

Van het slim gebruiken van wipes en reiniging tot het kiezen van de juiste handschoenen, van beschermende kleding tot duurzaam en foutloos labelen — én van risicobeheersing tot procescontrole: alles komt aan bod.

Jointly organized by Radboudumc, Briskr, Oost NL, and Radboud University: the main match-making event for top researchers, entrepreneurs and investors in the life sciences & health sector. Exchange knowledge, network and speak to investors about (future) cooperation early on. Our goal is to improve the impact on healthcare.

The main objective of this day is to make new contacts. For that we are using a matchmaking platform to set up 1-on-1 meetings.

A balanced selection of scientists, investors, and entrepreneurs shares their stories so that all attendees could learn from each other.

Recap: Life Science Festival Nijmegen – A Celebration of Innovation and Collaboration

On June 12, Briskr and supporting partner Avantor Science hosted an inspiring Life Science Festival at Noviotech Campus in Nijmegen. As part of a two-day national event, the Nijmegen edition brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, and professionals to explore cutting-edge innovations in the life sciences sector.

The festival kicked off with a welcome by Marion Schouten (Briskr), who highlighted Briskr’s role in accelerating innovation and business growth in Health & High Tech. Liz Fransman (Avantor) introduced the festival concept and shared how Avantor and its partners are helping to drive progress in life sciences.

The heart of the event featured interactive workshops, hands-on demos, and short pitches from suppliers eager to showcase the latest developments in their fields.

A broad range of Avantor’s Life Sciences suppliers was present, each bringing unique technologies and solutions:

BANN, Business Angels Network Nijmegen

The Business Angels Network Nijmegen (BANN) is an initiative from Briskr and OostNL to connect angel investors with promising startups in health and hightech in the metropole region Arnhem-Nijmegen. In three events per year 12 startups in total are giving the opportunity to pitch their business idea and investment opportunity to an audience of interested investors. The normal range of investment is between 50K to 300K but in some cases a combination can be made with other investment channels. The event is invite only.

The meetings are held a Slot Doddendael in Ewijk (next to Nijmegen), start around 16:00 and are combined with dinner until 20:00.

For investors

The BANN is a network of 100+ investors interested in health and hightech sectors. Of these usually around 40 investors are present during the meetings. Before the meeting you will receive information about the startups to determine if a visit is justified. Beside the investment opportunities the BANN is also a social gathering including plenty of opportunity to network with other angels during dinner.

Looking back: A powerful workshop on startup-corporate collaboration

Last week, we hosted a dynamic and insightful workshop with Corina Kuiper, Managing Director of the Corporate Venturing Network and founder of Innovation Family. With over 25 years of experience in strategic management and innovation, Corina brought a wealth of knowledge to the table — and it showed!

The session, titled “Ready to team up: Building successful startup-corporate collaborations,” was packed with real-life examples, practical tools, and valuable insights into how startups and corporates can truly benefit from working together.
