Impactvolle AI-ontbijtsessie voor ondernemers

Ben jij benieuwd hoe Artificial Intelligence (AI) jouw onderneming kan versterken? Tijdens deze ontbijtsessie ontdek je hoe andere MKB-bedrijven AI succesvol toepassen en krijg je praktische tips om er zelf mee aan de slag te gaan. Daarnaast kun je sparren met experts en andere ondernemers, zodat je met frisse ideeën en concrete handvatten naar huis gaat.

Wat kun je verwachten?

Tijdens deze ontbijtsessie krijg je als MKB-ondernemer op een laagdrempelige manier inzicht in hoe AI jouw bedrijf kan versterken. Geen lange theorieën, maar concrete praktijkvoorbeelden en handige tips en tools waarmee je direct aan de slag kunt.

Tijdens de ontbijtsessie laat het MKB Datalab-Oost inspirerende voorbeelden zien van hoe AI nu al succesvol wordt ingezet in het midden- en kleinbedrijf. Daarbij bieden we je ook de gelegenheid samen met studenten van de Radboud Universiteit en experts van MKB Datalab aan de slag te gaan met een eigen AI-toepassing voor jouw onderneming.

De tweede spreker Guus Witjes (Online Marketing Coördinator HAN) neemt je mee in de praktische wereld van AI en laat zien hoe je morgen al kunt starten. Ontdek hoe GenAI je dagelijkse werk kan versnellen en verbeteren – van het schrijven van content en het analyseren van data tot het creëren van video’s. Leer effectieve prompts schrijven en zie concrete voorbeelden van AI-toepassingen zoals de brandvoice-checker ‘Tone Tara’ en ‘Social Media Maik’. Een no-nonsense sessie voor iedereen die direct wil profiteren van AI.

BANN, Business Angels Network Nijmegen

The Business Angels Network Nijmegen (BANN) is an initiative from Briskr and OostNL to connect angel investors with promising startups in health and hightech in the metropole region Arnhem-Nijmegen. In three events per year 12 startups in total are giving the opportunity to pitch their business idea and investment opportunity to an audience of interested investors. The normal range of investment is between 50K to 300K but in some cases a combination can be made with other investment channels. The event is invite only.

The meetings are held a Slot Doddendael in Ewijk (next to Nijmegen), start around 16:00 and are combined with dinner until 20:00.

For investors

The BANN is a network of 100+ investors interested in health and hightech sectors. Of these usually around 40 investors are present during the meetings. Before the meeting you will receive information about the startups to determine if a visit is justified. Beside the investment opportunities the BANN is also a social gathering including plenty of opportunity to network with other angels during dinner.

How can Briskr support you?

Briskr supports knowledge-intensive start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accelerating their growth and making a more significant impact in the Life Sciences & Health and High-Tech sectors. Briskr believes that the interaction between knowledge-intensive companies and knowledge institutions, such as universities and government agencies, is essential for realizing innovation: impact = research * entrepreneurship!

Briskr supports start-ups and scale-ups in two ways:

Substantive support for entrepreneurs through 30 workshops per year on entrepreneurship, intellectual property (IP), certification, and more.
Financial support through a network of business angels, various soft loans, and equity investments through partners.

In the incubation program (for start-ups), acceleration program (for scale-ups), and activation program (for established SMEs), Briskr brings together innovative entrepreneurs.

Promoting innovative entrepreneurship. To foster more innovative entrepreneurship in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region, companies collaborate with a vast network of other organizations, including OostNL, Health Valley, HightechNL, The Economic Board, Noviotech Campus, and, of course, knowledge institutions and government entities.

Since December 2022, Briskr has become a foundation with board members from Radboudumc, HAN University of Applied Sciences, NXP Netherlands, Rabobank Gelderland-Zuid, and VNO-NCW. These board members also serve on The Economic Board in the region, where decisions can be made on major priorities when needed. Briskr oversees the execution of these initiatives.

The main activities of Briskr can be summarized as follows:

The Briskr Academy offers approximately 30 workshops each year focused on entrepreneurship. The offerings are diverse and are provided in close collaboration with supporting partners, including large companies in the region with an interest in fostering a strong entrepreneurial culture, such as a law firm and a certification agency in healthcare. Approximately 300 companies from the region regularly participate in these workshops.
The Business Angels Network Nijmegen (BANN) consists of entrepreneurs (business angels) willing to invest in ambitious entrepreneurs. In collaboration with Oost NL, BANN was started in 2019 and has since been successfully developed. Numerous startups have been assisted. Three times a year, a BANN event is organized, during which four startups get the opportunity to pitch for angel capital.
Investment Day is an annual invitation-only event for investors, entrepreneurs, and scientists considering ventures in the field of life sciences and health. This event is a collaboration between Briskr, Radboudumc, Radboud University, and Oost NL. Investment Day serves as a matchmaking event, providing a unique opportunity to establish new business contacts and discuss the potential societal impact of research with industry experts.

Onze bloeiende regio Arnhem-Nijmegen blijft zich volop ontwikkelen. We beschikken over een breed scala aan organisaties en kennisinstellingen in energy, health en hightech. Iets waar we als regio erg trots op zijn. Benieuwd wat onze regio aan bedrijvigheid te bieden heeft? In dit artikel leggen we je er alles over uit.

The Economic Board Regio Arnhem-Nijmegen werkt hard om de verbindingen in de omgeving te versterken. Daarom is het extra belangrijk om de organisaties en kennisstellingen die aan een gezond een duurzaam leven werken in het zonnetje te zetten. Vooral op het gebied van de drie speerpunten energy, health en hightech.

Om overzicht te creëren hebben we een complete Lifeport kaart gemaakt met alle interessante bedrijven, kennisinstellingen, netwerkorganisaties, innovatieclusters en overheden in regio Arnhem-Nijmegen. Daarbij kun je kiezen uit verschillende categorieën: health, hightech, food, energy, circulair, duurzaam, AI, netwerkorganisaties en kennisinstellingen.

Digital health in regio Arnhem-Nijmegen

Eén van de belangrijkste ontwikkelingen in onze regio is zorginnovatie. Het is niet voor niks dat Nijmegen zeer geschikt is om innovatie in de zorg te ondersteunen. Bijna 30% van de banen is zorggerelateerd. Dit gaat van gespecialiseerde ziekenhuizen, zoals de Sint Maartenskliniek, tot academische instellingen, zoals het Radboudumc. Kortom: zorginnovatie groei en bloeit volop.

Digitalisering is één van de grootste ontwikkelingen in zorginnovatie. Het thema digital health heeft het potentieel om zorg duurzamer en slimmer te maken. Het kan bijvoorbeeld helpen bij grote maatschappelijke zorguitdagingen, zoals de vergrijzende bevolking, stijgende zorgkosten en een tekort aan zorgpersoneel. De regio Nijmegen heeft alle ingrediënten in huis om dit thema te laten floreren.

Zo mogen we trots zijn op het human capital in onze regio. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan kennisinstellingen, zoals Radboudumc, Radboud Universiteit, HAN University of Applied Sciences, ROC Nijmegen, Rijn IJssel, en nog veel meer. Maar denk ook aan startups, waarvan velen zich richten op gezondheid, zorg, welzijn en digital health. Daarnaast beschikken we over alle ondersteuning die een ecosysteem nodig heeft met faciliteiten zoals living labs en innovatieruimten. Recentelijk is ook het open innovatieprogramma Digital Health Challenge Lab (DHCL) gelanceerd, dat met challenges op zoek gaat naar concrete oplossingen voor zorg, wonen en welzijn.

Digital health-kaart

Onze regio kent veel inspirerende digital health-initiatieven. Dat vraagt om een etalage om al deze organisaties en kennisinstellingen in uit te lichten. Daarom heeft de Economic Board een digital health-kaart gemaakt. Hier vind je alle organisaties en kennisinstellingen die zich bezighouden met digital health in regio Arnhem-Nijmegen.

Zoek je als ondernemer andere organisaties in het digital health-netwerk? Dan vind je ze hier. Ook voor zorgorganisaties die digitale oplossingen zoeken voor hun zorguitdagingen is dit een fijn platform om een mogelijk match te vinden. Of ben je student en wil je graag werken in digital health? Dan zie je hier in een oogopslag welke mooie organisaties er in de regio zijn.

Hightech in regio Arnhem-Nijmegen

Naast digital health is ook het hightechcluster volop in ontwikkeling, met als grootste paradepaardje de semiconsector. Semicon is een grote werkgever in regio Arnhem-Nijmegen en daarmee een belangrijke pijler voor economische ontwikkeling. Zo zijn er veel organisaties die chips produceren die essentieel zijn voor belangrijke maatschappelijke transities in energie, mobiliteit en de zorg. De hele chipketen komt samen in onze regio: productie, kalibratie, validatie, packaging en innovatie.

Grote spelers, zoals NXP Semiconductors, vormen een sterke basis voor hightechbedrijven. Maar ook het Chip Integration and Technology Center (CITC) biedt bedrijven en kennisinstellingen de kans om samen te werken aan de integratie en verpakking van elektroniche chips. Daarnaast zijn radiofrequentietechologieën (RF-technologie) ook een belangrijke economische kracht in hightech. RF-technologie wordt niet alleen gebruikt voor 5G, maar ook in medische beeldvorming, therapieën en detectiesystemen. In Nijmegen werken diverse bedrijven aan innovaties op dit gebied, met een speciaal RF-design center voor onderzoek en ontwikkeling.

De vraag naar nieuw talent is groot bij semiconbedrijven. Om voor meer verbinding in deze sector te zorgen, heeft de Economic Board daarom ook een semiconkaart gemaakt. Hierin vind je een concreet overzicht van al het moois dat de semiconsector in onze regio te bieden heeft.

Terugblik workshop Lessen in aantrekkelijk werkgeverschap

Op 12 februari vond de workshop ‘Lessen in aantrekkelijk werkgeverschap’ plaats, met een diverse groep deelnemers vanuit innovatieve start-ups, overheid, kennisinstellingen en het mkb. Tijdens de sessies ontstonden boeiende discussies over generatiemanagement en de impact van GenZ op de werkvloer. De door HAN ontwikkelde HR-toolbox als praktisch hulpmiddel om direct mee aan de slag te gaan werd geïntroduceerd.

Sprekers Adam Galijasevicć (The Economic Board Regio Arnhem Nijmegen), Angelique Driessens (3Sense) en Dr. Sarah Detaille (HAN University of Applied Sciences) deelden inzichten over het thema human capital met aandacht voor talentbehoud, de dynamiek tussen verschillende generaties en strategieën voor duurzame inzetbaarheid. In de interactieve deelsessies konden deelnemers in kleinere groepen dieper ingaan op specifieke thema’s en ervaringen uitwisselen.

De workshop werd afgesloten met een netwerkborrel, waar nog volop werd nagepraat. Al met al een inspirerende middag vol praktische handvatten en nieuwe connecties!

Oproep HAN
Het is mogelijk om als ondernemer mee te doen aan een onderzoek naar de meerwaarde van inclusief werkgeverschap voor mkb-bedrijven. Voor dit onderzoek zoekt HAN 3 à 4 mkb-bedrijven uit de regio Nijmegen die willen bijdragen aan inzichten over aantrekkelijk werkgeverschap, talentbehoud en duurzame inzetbaarheid. Deelnemende bedrijven investeren alleen tijd (ongeveer 80-100 uur per jaar), zonder financiële bijdrage. Via Sarah kun je contact opnemen.

Vooraankondiging PharmaNL Shared Development Infrastructure 2025

ZonMw is van plan 18 maart 2025 een subsidieoproep te openen binnen het PharmaNL Shared Development Infrastructure programma, dat zich richt op het realiseren van infrastructuurvoorzieningen voor farmaceutische producten en geneesmiddelentechnologieën voor gedeeld gebruik door farmaceutische startups, scale-ups en academische onderzoeksgroepen.

Doel programma en subsidieronde

Deze subsidieoproep is onderdeel van de programmalijn PharmaNL Shared Development Infrastructure (SDI). Deze programmalijn is gericht op het inrichten van geavanceerde infrastructuren (zoals laboratoriumapparatuur) voor gedeeld gebruik door farmaceutische start-ups, scale-ups en academische onderzoeksgroepen. Het inrichten van een infrastructuur is belangrijk voor het versterken van de farmaceutische waardeketen, omdat momenteel de vereiste R&D voorzieningen en services nog niet of onvoldoende beschikbaar zijn.

De projecten zullen bijdragen aan een uitbreiding en versterking van farmaceutische hubs, kennisinstellingen en ondernemingen met toekomstbestendige apparatuur. Dit leidt vervolgens weer tot efficiënte en effectieve ontwikkeling van nieuwe medicijnen en productietechnologieën, kortere doorlooptijden en lagere kosten in de farmaceutische sector.

Deze subsidieoproep heeft als doel invulling te geven aan de specifieke thema’s die zijn vastgesteld in de investeringsagenda van PharmaNL voor de Shared Development Infrastructure programmalijn. De investeringsagenda is een routekaart voor investeringen gericht op het versterken van de Nederlandse farmaceutische waardeketen.

Doelgroep

De doelgroep van de subsidie is Nederlandse bedrijven, onderzoeks- en kennisinstellingen die een gedeelde farmaceutische infrastructuur willen inrichten en/of upgraden. Subsidie mag aangevraagd worden als individuele partij, of gezamenlijk met andere partijen in de vorm van een consortium.

Subsidie

Binnen deze oproep is subsidie beschikbaar voor het bouwen en/of upgraden van infrastructuurvoorzieningen voor de ontwikkeling, opschaling en productie van innovatieve medicijnen in Nederland. Als voorwaarde geldt dat de infrastructuurvoorzieningen voor minimaal 50% van de beschikbare tijd tegen een marktconforme prijs worden opengesteld voor gedeeld gebruik door startups, scale-ups en academische onderzoeksgroepen.

Per project kan maximaal € 5 miljoen aan subsidie worden aangevraagd met een maximale looptijd van 4 jaar. Het totale beschikbare subsidiebudget voor deze ronde bedraagt in totaal € 24 miljoen.

Proces en voorlopige planning

Deze subsidieronde is opgebouwd uit een projectideefase en uitgewerkte aanvraagfase. Een projectidee is een beknopte versie van een uitgewerkte aanvraag. Tijdens de projectideefase beoordeelt de programmacommissie de projectideeën op relevantie en globaal op kwaliteit. De commissie selecteert de projecten die het beste passen bij de doelstellingen van de subsidieoproep en het meest kansrijk zijn. Deze krijgen een advies om het projectidee uit te werken tot een volledige subsidieaanvraag.

We’re excited to invite you to the SMB Network Meeting in May, organized in collaboration with HAN University of Applied Sciences and its MSc. of Molecular Science students.. This special edition will take place at Noviotech Campus, where we’ll connect professionals, researchers, and students around the theme of Life Sciences. For innovators, organisations and students, who wish to grow into their best selves.

The full program includes a workshop Networking skills with trainer Frank Smallegange, followed by a company market and inspiring network meeting. All events are open to our broader community.

The meeting will be moderated by our former SMB director John Schalken, ensuring lively and insightful discussions. It starts with an introduction on how the HAN Master Molecular Life Sciences (MLS) apprenticeship model contributes solving talent gaps, innovation and growth of life sciences companies. After this, representatives of two different life science enterprises, the start-up Enzyre and the globally operating company ImmunoPrecise Antibodies, will share their experiences with HAN Master MLS apprentices from the perspectives of employer and student. Finally, there are plenty of opportunities to network between (prospective) students and employers.

Improving your networking skills

Time to work on your networking skills!

Networking is part of your job. When meeting new potential business partners, ambassadors, employers or clients, it’s essential that you can tell a compelling story tailored to your audience. This requires a combination of listening and storytelling skills. In this workshop, we’ll work on both.

This session is especially designed for HAN Molecular Science students as a warm-up to the SMB Network meeting later that day, providing the perfect opportunity to immediately practice your newly learned networking skills. Of course, other interested participants are more than welcome to join!

We start by fine-tuning and adapting your story for any audience. Then, we practice how to tell this story effectively in a networking setting. This includes identifying the right people, starting conversations, and, just as importantly, knowing when and how to exit a conversation when it’s not the right fit. You’ll also learn when and how to follow up successfully after a meeting.

This will be an interactive & fun workshop with ample opportunities to test and refine new versions of your story and tactics. One thing is guaranteed: by the end of the session, at least 10 people in your network will be able to share a version of your story. #NetworkingStartsNow

About Frank Smallegange

Frank is a pitch coach for (technical) start-ups. Trained as a chemical engineer, he has extensive work experience as a designer and builder in IT. He is also a master of improvisation and storytelling, having taken courses from Las Vegas to Berlin. This unique combination of skills enables Frank to understand what makes a pitch successful and show you how to captivate your audience.
